On July 4, Bern's new festival hall was inaugurated as an event venue: HRS invited craftsmen and planners to celebrate the progress of the work with an end-of-site party. 320 people involved in construction gathered in the new multifunctional hall.

The new festival hall on the Bernexpo site has been under construction since May 15, 2023, and is due to be handed over to the owner, Messepark Bern AG, at the end of March 2025.

The new building impresses with its dimensions: 173 meters long, 56 meters wide and 18 meters high. It can accommodate up to 9,000 people and includes an auditorium, a multi-purpose hall and a foyer. The new building complies with the Minergie-P standard and operates without the use of fossil fuels. The surrounding area will be redeveloped as a new meeting zone, providing a gathering place for young and old alike. The environment will be equipped with green spaces, 44 trees, seating cubes and a water feature.

On May 17, the structural work was completed on schedule, marking an important milestone. Work is now underway on the interior fittings and landscaping.

For HRS as project developer and general contractor, it is a great pleasure to realize a new landmark in Bern. The short construction period poses a challenge, but thanks to the goal-oriented cooperation of everyone involved, the project is on schedule. We are very much looking forward to BEA 2025 as the first official event in the new Festhalle.

HRS would like to thank the client, Messepark Bern AG, for the trust they have placed in us and all the companies for their excellent cooperation.
